The goal of the client's "pied-à-terre" was to turn a commercial looking apartment into a warm and inviting patio home done in high English style. The design scheme was accomplished by adding Asian antiques, bench-made English furniture, and custom cornice boards using bucolic fabric prints.
The hand-made George III étagère is
accessorized with a silk orchid, an antique English biscuit box, and an
artesian-made bronze dog sculpture creating a classic, authentic English
look.

Symmetry and balance are the key design elements in this cozy seating area. Design materials include a custom-made sofa with medieval tapestry pillows, a set of black lacquer Chinese stools, a pair of English round side tables coupled with a duo of antique brass candelabra lamps, and an English horse painting.

The designer took advantage of every possible space in this apartment for seating. This small nook includes an upholstered wicker swivel lounge chair, an antique English Bamboo shelf, and an antique English brass table floor lamp.

Custom shelving was designed in this Kitchen Nook so it could function both as an office and for dining. This space now has a place to plan a menu, pay and file bills, or enjoy a cup of coffee.

A long, narrow, hallway was put to good use by installing custom-made bulletin boards displaying family photos. The design of the bulletin boards includes a custom engraving plaque of each family member, spouse and children, individual solid antique brass art lamp, and a custom shelf to re-wire all of the circuits so the lights can be brighten and dimmed all by one switch.
